Rumor has it that on Aug 15 the IADS will be turned over from US to Icelandic control. I've yet to verify this.
Since its establishment, the US administration has been in charge of the IADS, which is a radar network located in four different places of Iceland. On 15 August, responsibilities for the system will be handed over to the Icelandic government. The annual cost of running the IADS is estimated at ISK 824 million (USD 12.6 million).
