Technical Writer for Airborne Warning Systems (AWS) Technical Publications Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS). Create and maintain Mission Operations manuals and checklists; and assist in authoring user manuals/positional handbooks as required for Domestic and International AWACS customers. Analyze and evaluate engineering source data, vendor data, and customer data in order to design, organize, and develop technical data required to operate and maintain aircraft, weapon systems, support equipment, training equipment, and non-traditional products. Develop long-term relationships with external and internal customers by communicating and understanding their needs, expectations, and requirements. Estimate the impact to products in support of proposals. Plan and schedule technical data development and delivery. Coordinate complete system integration data with Engineering and other internal and external organizations. Assist in training less experienced personnel. Participate in IPT meetings to gain insight on and provide input related to design. Apply system knowledge and experience to identify and communicate source data inaccuracies/ improvements to responsible organizations. Utilize engineering data in the development of organizational, intermediate, and depot level procedures for military maintenance and operations manuals. Develop draft illustration and/or supplies art mark-ups required for creation of supporting artwork based on source data and in accordance with style and format specifications. Monitor development of supporting art to complete technical document. Update technical data based on internal/ external reviews, source data changes and equipment modifications. Participate in and conduct In-Process Reviews (IPRs) with engineering and customer personnel. Utilize complex engineering data to develop technical data in accordance with required specifications with limited oversight. Use multiple authoring tools and/or publishing systems adhering to established standards and processes. Assist in the review of completed technical data packages for technical accuracy, adequacy, and format. Perform complete technical data validation and support customer verification. Analyze and evaluate impact of engineering changes on technical data. Plan, schedule and coordinate data research, development and integration activities. Assist with quality reviews and validations, conduct IPRs, and support verification. Create paper, Electronic and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals. Work under general direction.
Basic Qualifications For Consideration
Have you been qualified/certified as an AWACS airborne technician (ART, CT, CDMT, ST)?
Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to Obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start) - US Citizenship Required Prior experience as an AWACS Mission Crew technician required. Some domestic/ international travel required. Prefer technical authoring experience.
