Theodore Garland Booker, 71, entered the gates of Heaven on December 27, 2017. Ted was born on October 31, 1946 in Salisbury, NC to
John Linwood and Addie Baretta (McKinney) Booker.
He was raised in North Carolina until the age of 14, when his family then moved to New York. Ted graduated from Forest Hills in Queens, NY
and later graduated from Shaw University in 1969. He volunteered for the Air Force in 1971; he saw conflict in the Vietnam War, and served
four overseas tours. Ted ended his career after 19 years of dedicated service with the rank of Major. He later retired from the Department of
Human Services as a Training Manager. Theodore loved OU Football and Basketball, fishing, golf, and traveling. He had a love for music, theater,
and was adventurous when it came to trying new foods.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Gwen Booker; children, Kevin and Keia Booker; and a host of cousins and friends who will miss him
dearly. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel. Condolences may be
