In 1998 when the US Navy converted their TACAMO mission from C-130's to the E-6B they also consolidated their east and west squadrons to Tinker AFB, OK. As a way of welcoming them to Tinker the Air Force gave their Anchor a new coat of paint.

Re: The Pink Anchor
They did the same thing in early 90's when Navy first built their facilities and moved into Tinker. Sorry, no pic.

Re: The Pink Anchor
Ron is right. The anchor we painted pink in '94. The intell network indicated there was a plot afoot to paint the Connie pink in retaliation. I as the new OG and was tasked by the wing commander to work a peace treaty with the Navy. It lasted for years but the anchor in front of the Navy wing commander's house was free game and received several coats of pink paint.
