REQ: Details about a patch I've had for a long time

Post by jbaileytx » Tue Aug 28, 2012 10:26 am

Traded my 668 Bomb Squadron patch off my flight suit (like the patch on the left) for an "Airborne Early Warning" patch in June 1979 in England (Greenham Common, International Air Tattoo, I was a B-52 Gunner at the time)...

Can any of you tell me anything about the patch on the right? And will you?

Hi there!

Don't know...but could have been a No.8 Sqdn patch.
They did fly the Avro Shackelton ("8 screws are better than four blowjobs" read a sticker in our Squadron bar in Geilenkirchen...) at that time.
Check out this site: http://www.8squadron.co.uk/history_1972-1991.php

Cheers

Happy landings, Bernd
